When a person passes away in Hyderabad but their native place is in another city or state, the family needs to transport the body. This can be done by road (van/ambulance) or by air (airlines as cargo). Both require proper documentation and careful handling to ensure the body is transported with dignity.
For road transport, a freezer-equipped van or AC ambulance is used. The journey to cities in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu or Maharashtra can typically be completed in 6–24 hours. For longer distances like Rajasthan, Delhi or West Bengal, air transport is more practical.
Documents required for body transport include: Death certificate (from GHMC or hospital), No Objection Certificate (NOC) from police if the death was unnatural, embalming certificate (required for air transport and for journeys exceeding 24 hours), a copy of Aadhaar/ID of the deceased, and the original hospital death summary.
For air transport, the body must be embalmed, wrapped in a specific manner, and placed in an approved zinc-lined coffin. Airlines like Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet and Vistara accept human remains as cargo, typically at their dedicated cargo terminals at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad.
Our team handles all documentation, embalming, packaging and airline coordination, ensuring the family only needs to arrange the reception at the destination.
